MAS attenuators casings are constructed from high quality pre-galvanized sheet steel. Gauges and seams are comply with DW142 and are designed Aerodynamic bull-nosed splitters to minimize regenerated noise and pressure drop.MAS attenuator acoustic infill material is semi-rigid fiber slabs and has been selected to achieve optimum performance. This material is inert ,non-hygroscopic, vermin proof and rots proof ,does not support bacteriological growth and has a Class 1 rating for surface spread of flame as measured to BS 476 Part7,1971.

in addition to the special glass fiber tissue facing on the acoustic infill to avoid infill erosion, perforated galvanized sheet facing is used as a standard feature. This makes the splitters suitable for air velocities up to 30m/s in the passenger ways. The infill material is packed under not less than 5% compression.MAS attenuators have standard end flanges manufactured from steel angle as follows:


Size up to 800 mm (w or h)

30mm

Size above 800 mm (w or h)

40mm


Other flange types such as knock on duct mate or Mez are available upon the customer request. Due to the splitter casing riveted to the main attenuator case, this makes the whole structure stiffer and rigid.

However, intermediate reinforcing steel angles are used for length more than 1200mm.MAS attenuator entire is completely air tight and when tested to DW142 with 1200Pa: Class C was obtained (High Pressure).

The attenuator has been tested in an independent UL approved LAB in accordance to BS 4718 and ISO 7235:2003.This gives more credibility to the data being obtained and published.

Although the catalog shows certain attenuator sizes; which are shown as guidance to the designer to estimate attenuators sizes; custom made sizes can be manufacture to fulfill the customer space requirements.

The specially designed Aerodynamic bull-nosed splitters will minimize air turbulence and pressure drop which means:

*  Direct saving in fans operating cost, due to lower static pressure required.

*  increased acoustic performance due to reduced regenerated noise at attenuator inlet and outlet
